Rodney Warren LLB

Rodney Warren LLB, founder and senior partner, was admitted as a solicitor in 1979, and established the firm in 1994. He has been a member of the Council of the Law Society of England & Wales since 1999 and is a member of the Society’s Management Board. He is also a member of the Council of the University of Sussex.

During his long period of representation of the solicitors’ profession at the highest level, Rodney has chaired Law Society committees. These include the Access to Justice (Legal Aid) committee before moving on to chair the Law Society’s Representation Board. He is also a member of the Society’s Criminal Law Committee.

From 2006-2010, Rodney was seconded to the Ministry of Justice as a Senior Civil Servant with the job title “Criminal Defence Strategic Partner”. Rodney had responsibility for input into government criminal justice policy from the defence perspective. He is well known nationally and internationally for his work as a specialist criminal lawyer. Rodney is a past Chairman of the Criminal Law Solicitors’ Association, and was its Director for ten years.

Back at the day job

Rodney has extensive experience negotiating on behalf of corporate and individual clients. This is mainly with investigating authorities such as the Serious Fraud Office, as well as running and supervising internal investigations. Rodney has also successfully dealt with complex civil and criminal fraud allegations, money laundering investigations and overseas Bribery and Corruption cases, both under the Prevention of Corruption Act 1906 and the Bribery Act 2010. The firm has, under Rodney’s leadership, advised companies on the development of their anti-bribery and corruption procedures and protocols towards the BSI 10500 standard. Renowned for problem solving through effective strategic thinking, he has avoided “deep end trouble” for many clients.

As a member of the International Bar Association criminal law committee he has also been the criminal publications and newsletter editor.

Rodney is an experienced commentator on legal matters on national TV and radio and has featured on BBC2’s Newsnight and on Radio 4’s File on Four as well as many general news broadcasts. As legal adviser to the BBC’s ‘The Archers’ from 2001 to 2014, Rodney enjoyed a privileged view of life in Ambridge and had a hand in many storylines, including the start of the Rob Titchener/Helen Archer tension that attracted much national press coverage.

Rodney is an experienced and popular law lecturer, presenting accredited training courses to qualified solicitors throughout England and Wales on practice management and legal topics.

For many years now, Rodney and the firm have been the ‘go to’ destination for solicitors and other members of the legal profession in dealing with their regulatory and other concerns in the most discreet way possible.
